Brush Fire Erupts Near L.A. Zoo in Griffith Park; 2 to 3 Acres Burned
A brush fire has started in a remote area of Griffith Park Friday morning.
The fire was reported about 7 a.m. behind the Los Angeles Zoo, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart stated in a news alert.
The fire had burned about 2 to 3 acres of heavy brush, according to Stewart.
Fire engines were unable to reach the location so crews were hiking to area in an attempt to get water on the fire.
A Los Angeles County Fire helicopter was also headed to the area to assist with the fire, Stewart stated.
