KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — Veteran’s Day is this weekend on November 11. There are several events in Knoxville to celebrate and honor our country’s veterans, and several companies are offering free and discounted items.
On Friday, Knoxville is hosting it’s Veteran’s Day Parade on Friday. The parade, which is lining up on Howard H. Baker Jr. Avenue, will be starting at 10:45 a.m. A ceremony will begin shortly after near mast General Store for attending veterans.
The East Tennessee Historical Society is inviting all veterans, active duty military and their families to visit the Museum of East Tennessee History on Friday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Shoney’s Restaurant is offering a free breakfast bar to veterans and troops on Veteran’s Day and on Monday from 6 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The Knoxville Beauty Collective and Salon Absinthe will be offering free haircuts. The beauty collective is located at 3501 Tazewell Pike, while the salon is located at 7325 S. Northshore Drive. Call 865-677-5152 for appointments.
Pilot Flying J is offering free breakfast to active-duty and retired military veterans from November 10 through November 12 through the Pilot Flying J app.
The University of Tennessee’s McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture will be presenting a Veterans Day-themed bus tour, which will go from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 11. Attendees should arrive at the Three Rivers Rambler train depot by 1:45 p.m. Tickets cost $45 for museum members and $60 for non-members. They can be purchased here.
