Baltimore County police close roads in Timonium around Home Depot as they

Baltimore County Police said Friday evening that they were communicating with a “person in crisis” in the parking lot of the Home Depot in the 100 block of Industry Lane in the Timonium area, and urged people to avoid the area.

County police have closed local roads. About 50 people — some 40 customers and 10 employees — are in the Home Depot store and “are fine,” said Lt. Andrea Bylen, a police spokeswoman.

As of 10:15 police were talking to him, and believe he may be armed.

“We are trying to de-escalate the situation,” Bylen said.

Bylen said the incident began when family members, concerned about the man’s well being, called police about 3 p.m. Friday. Police located him about 7 p.m. driving on York Road in Timonium and tried to get him to pull him over. He turned onto Industry Lane and stopped in the Home Depot parking lot.
