Fresh off of an upset win in the quarterfinal round, the Golden Gophers are now tasked with a matchup against the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.
Minnesota (21-12, 9-11) will need another big performance from senior forward Jordan Murphy and junior guard Amir Coffey if they wants to get their first win over the Wolverines this season. Coffey really struggled in the last game against Michigan back in February, shooting just 13 percent from the floor in the loss. The Wolverines (27-5, 15-5) are coming off a blowout victory over Iowa on Friday night, smacking the Hawkeyes 74-53 and putting the clamps on them defensively. Michigan will need to continue to lock up on the defensive end (which they’ve done all year) if they want to advance to the conference final and face the winner of Michigan State and Wisconsin.
