Cardinal Daniel DiNardo was in a hospital in Houston Saturday, recovering from a “mild stroke,” according to a statement from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Dinardo was taken to the hospital Friday night and expected to stay for a few more days, the statement said. He was then expected to be transferred to a facility for rehabilitation.

The cardinal was said to be resting comfortably and talking with doctors and nurses.
“With so much to do, I am looking forward to getting back to work as soon as possible,” DiNardo said in a prepared statement.
